Toronto Castings : Wheel for Elevator
Rollamo team manufactured the open-close pulley mechanism used in elevator doors for Toronto Castings in 2017.
Tooling and Machining
The components were manufactured using gravity die casting technique. Special treatment was required for the center hole to make provision for a metal bush insert. The challenging task was accomplished by developing a special die ensuring the required metal pour during the casting process. The component was machined on a CNC turning machine after which a zero porosity was achieved which was critical for the customer’s requirement.
